Yeah. I am thinking about getting a lip piercing. Just a little stud.


I am 14. %26amp;%26amp; some people say you gotta be 15 er 16.


But my friend was 14 %26amp;%26amp; got it done. I live in Ohio %26amp;%26amp; idk the age to get it at. I wanna know on a scale of 1-10 if it hurts? %26amp;%26amp; what they do %26amp;%26amp; how long it takes. How much money to =] Thanks =]

People stop putting holes in your face. Where are your parents and what do they say about this?
Reply:It really depends on the person. People need to understand this - One person will tell you it hurts like buggery. Another will tell you they didn%26#039;t even realise it was pierced.


I watched my friend get it done yesterday (she is 16) and she squeezed my hand and I heard her go %26quot;Oooowww!%26quot;


But I have another friend with it done, who actually didn%26#039;t realise the needle had gone through it hurt so little.

Reply:people have different pain tolerences and personally i think it hurts really bad... just try pinching ur lip if it hurts then i wouldnt do it my lip hurts really bad when i do it so... it all depends on the person... i would NOT get it done because i think it is gross .. and i would wait a little bit to think about it and you might grow out of wanting to get it done... also when you get ur lip periced it wares away ur gums and ive heard many bad things about it personally i would never but its compleately up to u

On a scale of 1-10 if it hurts! What they do? They jam a piece of metal through your lip! This isn%26#039;t exactly brain surgery as far as the technique. I can%26#039;t tell you how long it will take or how much of low-cost but I can%26#039;t tell you how much it decreases what people will think of you when they see it. At 14 years of age I think that this is an unwise thing for you to consider doing. If this thing gets infected and you end up losing part of your lip will all your friends be impressed with how you look. I have never in my life seen a lip piercing that I thought was at all complementary to the person who had it. In my opinion, it is the type of thing done by someone who has self-esteem issues and wants to temporarily feel good by doing something outrageous for different. But, when you like it or not, in our society lip, and towing piercing sends a singular message to the recipient, and that message is that the person in question has some %26quot;free living%26quot; habits in their life, and usually is sexually open/explorative. I am not advancing that as a philosophy however it would be ludicrous to deny that that is something which is present in our society.

As far as not getting other people%26#039;s opinions on what to do with your self you%26#039;ve already done that by posting the question. As regards going with your instinct, how many people have you ever talked to or met who got a lip piercing because of some type of instinct? As regards to the advice to make yourself happy if that%26#039;s what you want, cause(sic) happiness means everything. After living a few years on this planet I can tell you that happiness does not mean everything. Sometimes there is more to life than just feeling happy. There is helping others, there is realizing that you have been able to prevent tragedy/loss in another person%26#039;s life without necessarily having to feel happy about it. Ask yourself a few questions. You are about to have surgery, let%26#039;s say that they%26#039;re going to fix some problem in your heart that you had been born with what was starting because you problem now. Your cardiac surgeon comes in with a lip piercing. What are you going to think? Please don%26#039;t tell me that you wouldthink he/she looked cool, because I think that%26#039;s very unlikely.


It may not be a real bad idea for you to discuss this with your parents. Our 14 years old, and they have lived a few years longer, and seen a few more things over the years thing you have so far.

This sound like excellent advice and it sound like either the person, or potentially an acquaintance of hers did something like this and regretted it afterwards. Learning from the mistakes of others is one of the first signs of wisdom. I can just imagine what you look like missing a big chunk of your upper lip because of some sort of complications/infection. All so that you could jam a piece of metal through your lip?

Most legit piercers will not pierce someone who is under 16, even with parents consent. If a place is offering you a piercing at your age, more often then not the piercer isn%26#039;t good. You can get all kinds of diseases at theses places. Not to mention a really crappy looking piercing.





I waited until I was 17 to get my lip pierced. I had my mom take me to a good, clean shop that I trusted.





Personally, I didn%26#039;t think it hurt at all. I actually got my lip pierced twice in one day and felt fine. You need to make sure to clean it as much as possible to prevent infection though.

To all those people who think piercings are slutty, or that they reduce your chances of getting a good job, your wrong.





I have Snakebite piercings. I%26#039;m not skanky at all. And I got into a really good university with them.


Discriminating against someone because they are pieced or tattooed is just as wrong as being prejudice about anything else. Just because I want to modify my body doesn%26#039;t make me a bad person.











Edit: My piercings cost about 80 dollars for two lip piercings.


It only took about 10 minutes and it was done and over with.
