It hurts some people. When I got mine done, it didn%26#039;t hurt at all..I felt a little pinch and that was it. The clamp that they put on to hold your skin tight hurt worse then the actual piercing. If the needle is sharp enough (which it should be) it should go through your skin without pain. You can still take showers, but the piercer told me to get in backwards (for real) so the water hits my back first then turn around, you don%26#039;t want to much pressure shot at your piercing. It takes about 3 to 6 months to heal completely. You should clean it twice a day, your piercer should give you antibacterial soap to clean it with, or salt water works too. Always wash your hands before you touch your belly as you don%26#039;t want to get germs in it. Well anyways, it doesn%26#039;t hurt.


It just feels like you%26#039;re being pinched for a second.


Your first time getting your belly button pierced will always be the least painful because if you have already had it pierced and are going to repierce it.


There is scarr tissue from your last belly ring that is kind of hard for the needle to go through.


But that doesn%26#039;t really hurt either.


It%26#039;s kind of a mixture of the pinching and you poking your belly button with your finger.


You can still take showers.


But you have to clean the belly ring very often.


The place you get your belly ring should give you some kind of ointment.


If not, then use %26quot;Dial%26quot; soap.


Very popular in this case.


NEVER use alchohol.


it is too strong for the puncture in your skin and may cause irritation or infecton.


Move your belly ring around frequently so that it can heal properly.


When first having your belly button pierced while it%26#039;s healing of the next 6 months or so, ONLY wear %26quot;SURGICAL STEEL%26quot;


if you use any other ring other than surgical steel, it will most likely become infected.


And ii have found that the infection is worse than the piercing part.


If it%26#039;s bad enough it can even kill your skin and just fall off by itself.


Fall off as in the skin on top of your belly ring dries and eventually just falls off with the belly ring.

you can bathe but you can%26#039;t go in the pool or the ocean for 6 months...


and you have to clean it every day for 6 months.
