I got my helix piercing eleven weeks ago. It was doing perfectly fine until about 2 days ago. Until then, it didn%26#039;t even hurt or anything. Well yes, I got it done with a gun.. stupid I know. But yeah, what%26#039;s done is done. Anyways, now its suddenly really swollen and hurts to lay on. Its very swollen and looks as if its about to swallow my piercing! Anybody with any advice would be nice :)

What exactly is a pore? and what makes it differnt from pimples/zits?

I work at a restaurant, and i see all these older people with terrible looking tattoos, i dont want this to happen to mine, why do their tattoos looks so bad

I got a tatoo when I was 18 and I am in my 40%26#039;s now and the only difference in my tatoo is that the color has faded some but not much. It also depends on how much exposure your tatoos get from the sun. Just take care of your skin and you won%26#039;t have any problems.

Well a few days ago I shaved my ***. Im not doing that ever again. Anyways, it was alright for a little while, but yesterday it itched alot when i was outside working all day long. The clamp that they put on to hold your skin tight hurt worse then the actual piercing. If the needle is sharp enough (which it should be) it should go through your skin without pain. You can still take showers, but the piercer told me to get in backwards (for real) so the water hits my back first then turn around, you don%26#039;t want to much pressure shot at your piercing. It takes about 3 to 6 months to heal completely. You should clean it twice a day, your piercer should give you antibacterial soap to clean it with, or salt water works too. Always wash your hands before you touch your belly as you don%26#039;t want to get germs in it. If you%26#039;re getting it done professionally (which i hope you are) they will give you the complete run down of how to properly take care of it..and what you can and can%26#039;t do.

unless you wnat to buy a 3 or 4 step acne product that had toner and lotion in it. that will work because the toner gets deep into your poors and the lotion will moisterize your face, the oil will vanish.

Try something gentle twice a day and go easy on the lotion and makeup, as for moisturizer be sure you are using a non-oil based one designed for oily skin.

You can get them from practically anywhere (I get mine from Wal-Mart) and they%26#039;re only like 6 dollars, which is WAY cheaper than other blotting sheets and proactiv stuff. There is 50 in a pack. All you have to do is go to the bathroom or something and then take one out and wipe it all over the oily spots on your face. The blotting sheet turns clear in places where it picks up oil, so you can actually see that it works. Also, it doesn%26#039;t smudge or pick up your makeup. I swear, these things are amazing.

I can%26#039;t tell you how long it will take or how much of low-cost but I can%26#039;t tell you how much it decreases what people will think of you when they see it. At 14 years of age I think that this is an unwise thing for you to consider doing. If this thing gets infected and you end up losing part of your lip will all your friends be impressed with how you look. I have never in my life seen a lip piercing that I thought was at all complementary to the person who had it. In my opinion, it is the type of thing done by someone who has self-esteem issues and wants to temporarily feel good by doing something outrageous for different. But, when you like it or not, in our society lip, and towing piercing sends a singular message to the recipient, and that message is that the person in question has some %26quot;free living%26quot; habits in their life, and usually is sexually open/explorative. I am not advancing that as a philosophy however it would be ludicrous to deny that that is something which is present in our society.

After living a few years on this planet I can tell you that happiness does not mean everything. Sometimes there is more to life than just feeling happy. This sound like excellent advice and it sound like either the person, or potentially an acquaintance of hers did something like this and regretted it afterwards. Learning from the mistakes of others is one of the first signs of wisdom. I can just imagine what you look like missing a big chunk of your upper lip because of some sort of complications/infection. All so that you could jam a piece of metal through your lip?

Most legit piercers will not pierce someone who is under 16, even with parents consent. If a place is offering you a piercing at your age, more often then not the piercer isn%26#039;t good. You can get all kinds of diseases at theses places. Not to mention a really crappy looking piercing.
I waited until I was 17 to get my lip pierced. I had my mom take me to a good, clean shop that I trusted.
Personally, I didn%26#039;t think it hurt at all. I actually got my lip pierced twice in one day and felt fine. You need to make sure to clean it as much as possible to prevent infection though.

To all those people who think piercings are slutty, or that they reduce your chances of getting a good job, your wrong.
I have Snakebite piercings. I%26#039;m not skanky at all. And I got into a really good university with them.

At 14 years of age I think that this is an unwise thing for you to consider doing. I have never in my life seen a lip piercing that I thought was at all complementary to the person who had it. In my opinion, it is the type of thing done by someone who has self-esteem issues and wants to temporarily feel good by doing something outrageous for different. But, when you like it or not, in our society lip, and towing piercing sends a singular message to the recipient, and that message is that the person in question has some %26quot;free living%26quot; habits in their life, and usually is sexually open/explorative. I am not advancing that as a philosophy however it would be ludicrous to deny that that is something which is present in our society.

As regards going with your instinct, how many people have you ever talked to or met who got a lip piercing because of some type of instinct? After living a few years on this planet I can tell you that happiness does not mean everything. Sometimes there is more to life than just feeling happy. You are about to have surgery, let%26#039;s say that they%26#039;re going to fix some problem in your heart that you had been born with what was starting because you problem now. This sound like excellent advice and it sound like either the person, or potentially an acquaintance of hers did something like this and regretted it afterwards. Learning from the mistakes of others is one of the first signs of wisdom. I can just imagine what you look like missing a big chunk of your upper lip because of some sort of complications/infection. All so that you could jam a piece of metal through your lip?

Most legit piercers will not pierce someone who is under 16, even with parents consent. If a place is offering you a piercing at your age, more often then not the piercer isn%26#039;t good. You can get all kinds of diseases at theses places. Not to mention a really crappy looking piercing.
I waited until I was 17 to get my lip pierced. I had my mom take me to a good, clean shop that I trusted.
Personally, I didn%26#039;t think it hurt at all. I actually got my lip pierced twice in one day and felt fine. You need to make sure to clean it as much as possible to prevent infection though.

To all those people who think piercings are slutty, or that they reduce your chances of getting a good job, your wrong.
I have Snakebite piercings. I%26#039;m not skanky at all. And I got into a really good university with them.
Discriminating against someone because they are pieced or tattooed is just as wrong as being prejudice about anything else. Just because I want to modify my body doesn%26#039;t make me a bad person.
Edit: My piercings cost about 80 dollars for two lip piercings.
It only took about 10 minutes and it was done and over with.

Getting my belly button pierced..?

I have a couple questions though..
1. Will I be okay to swim and stuff afterwards? Obviously with it being summer I%26#039;ll be outside a lot at the beach, in the pool etc. Will I be able to do this straight after getting my belly button pierced?
2. How long will I need to leave the belly ring in for before changing it?
3. Does it hurt bad?

Skin problems?
Well a few days to a week ago i shaved my butt. Im not doing that ever again, but yesterday I was outside working the whole day without changing clothes, and no shower. It was extremely hot near 100 and very humid. During the afternoon my butt itched. When i got home today I noticed my butt had red pimply bumps on it. they vary in size to like small to a bigger pimple size. Its generally on the upper part of my butt and lower part of my butt. I used a tanning lotion in a tanning bed and ended up with dark blotchy skin....?

Reply:yes, it does. darker/tanned skin outlines your curves etc. and also being in the sun in general is wonderful for your skin. it can clear spots and being even a little golden can help make stretch marks look like nothing. trust me. i feel so much better when im tanned. :]
